In scathing criticism of the government's alleged interference
in the CBI probe into the allocation of coal blocks, the Supreme Court
today asked the director of the investigating agency to file an
affidavit stating the changes made in the draft report vetted by law
minister Ashwani Kumar. The court termed as "very disturbing" the CBI's
affidavit that it shared its report with the law minister. Congress
leader Janardhan Dwivedi reacted by saying the court's remarks were 'not
pleasant for any dispensation'.
