LONDON: Pakistan pacers restricted
South Africa to 202-9 in 50 overs in a warm-up match of the Champions Trophy
here at the Kennington Oval on Monday.
After being sent into bat by
Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq, the Proteas were in immense pressure against
fierce bowling and lost seven wickets for 83 runs.
However, the lower-order batsmen
Jean-Paul Duminy (43) and Ryan McLaren (55) saved South Africa from an
embarrassment with a 94-run eighth wicket partnership.
All nine wickets lost by South
Africa, went to pacers as Asad Ali and Wahab Riaz grabbed three each and Junaid
Khan claimed two wickets.
Pakistan’s first warm-up match
against Sri Lanka was abandoned without a ball being played due to rain on
Friday.
